Описание: প্রাচীনকালে তাঁত বুনন প্রক্রিয়ায় কার্পাশ তুলার সুতা দিয়ে মসলিন নামে সূক্ষ্ম বস্ত্র তৈরি হতো এবং মসলিনের উপর যে জ্যামিতিক নকশাদার বা বুটিদার বস্ত্র বোনা হতো তারই নাম জামদানি।

The women of Bangladesh who like sari have at least one Jamdani sari in their collection.

Due to its aesthetic design and high price, Jamdani is associated with nobility and taste.

Due to its traditional design and weaving, Jamdani was recognized as a Geographical Indication (GI) product of Bangladesh by UNESCO in 2016.

But there are allegations that fake saris are being sold in the name of jamdani in different markets nowadays, as a result of which buyers are being deprived of the application of traditional jamdani.
