There are 5 maturity levels from ‘Reactive’ to ‘Effective Innovation.
 
Level 1 is Reactive. It’s the initial stage and lots of your processes work on an ad-hoc basis and awareness is generally low.
 
Level 2 is Emerging Discipline. At this level, you are able to define your processes, stay consistent, and are able to get tactical with your goals.
 
Level 3 is Initial Integration. You’ve achieved a certain standard, you are integrated with your tools and processes, and are focused on delivery.
 
Level 4 is Effective Integration. This is the next level of integration that allows better management and is more comprehensive and you are also able to be more strategic in your compliance approach.
 
Level 5, our final stage of maturity is “Effective Innovation”. Here you are well poised for more optimization, can get more pervasive with your processes, and are also able to do rapid strategy execution.
 
Organizational maturity determines the starting point: How well is your organization prepared for shifting its operational tempo? How well does your organization handle changes to everyday processes and procedures, including toolset (changes)
 
You need to collaborate across the organizations on Governance capabilities, like Services, processes, people, and metrics.
