Theme: This Psalm describes the relationship we have with God, He being the one who takes care of those that are under His care. Those under His care lack nothing to thrive!
Key Verse: “The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want.” ~ Psalms 23:1
Here we go again! We get to start getting used to a new year. Some with the hopes that this year will be better than the past and some with thoughts that things tend to grow from bad to worse.
It doesn’t take much observation to see that both can be true!
It can be true that 2026 will be better than 2025 if you do not allow the past to define you. You can forgive yourself for bad choices, you can forgive others for hurting you, you can forgive God for disappointing you!
Forgiveness represents a new beginning and allows you to have a fresh start. God’s word even tells us that we will experience forgiveness by the same measure that we express it! (Matt 6)
However, in order to forgive, you must first see yourself from the proper perspective. See yourself as God sees you.
For the unregenerated, God sees you as a precious creation that is separated from Him by sin, however, that is not without remedy. You can become born again, into His family, by receiving His Son, Jesus Christ.
For those that are born again, God sees you as a precious child that needs His care, His protection, and His provision.
God gives us a good glimpse of this relationship in Psalm 23.
Turn with me now to Psalm 23, let’s see what we might learn about how God sees those who are under His care so that we can experience Him anew in 2026 and be better equipped to represent Him to others throughout the year.
