Just memorize these ranges.

"Can't I just look it up?" NOPE. You (and all other members of the human race) have a very SMALL working memory capacity. So... if you're looking at tables... then you're not going to be able to WORK THE PROBLEM.

But if the signposts - the magic numbers - are stored away in LONG TERM MEMORY - then you're free to use your working memory to SOLVE the problem!

So how best to memorize?

1) TEST FIRST - Wait... REALLY? yes... really. Data is clear - it preps you for learning
2) NOW try to memorize
3) TEST AGAIN
4) GRADE yourself, and fix
5) TEST AGAIN
6) Repeat until learned.
