During my visit to Herentals, I discovered a place where slowing down feels natural. I spent most of my time walking through forests, quiet paths, and green landscapes, letting nature soften my thoughts and guide me into a peaceful state of reflection.

This video is a relaxing walk through Herentals and its surrounding nature, capturing the gentle atmosphere of this small Flemish town in northern Belgium.

🚲 The Cycling Culture of Belgium

One of the things that impressed me the most during my visit was the strong cycling culture.

Bicycles are everywhere.

Children ride their bikes to school.
Families travel together through the town on quiet cycling paths.
Even daily errands happen peacefully along bike lanes and forest routes instead of busy roads.

It creates a beautiful sense of balance between modern life and the natural environment, something Belgium is well known for.

Herentals is a small city in the province of Antwerp, located in the Flemish region of Belgium. The town has around 26,000–28,000 residents and includes the nearby villages of Morkhoven and Noorderwijk.

Situated along the Albert Canal in the green Kempen region, Herentals is known for its forests, cycling routes, and peaceful lifestyle.

With thousands of local businesses, strong infrastructure, and a culture that values walkability, cycling, and green spaces, the town offers a quality of life that feels calm, balanced, and deeply connected to nature.

For me, this visit became more than a simple walk through Belgium’s countryside.

It became a moment to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with the quiet side of life.
