Hello everyone. We are now on the eastern side of the Lehigh River. Over here is where the Carbon Iron Works facility once sat. Nothing indicates that the furnace ever existed with the exception of dam on the other side of PA route 248. There are a couple of other great remains including the eastern abutment of the Parryville covered bridge and a foot bridge for the Lehigh Canal tow path.
I was sent an email that indicates the covered bridge was built by the Carbon Iron Works to dump their slag on the western side of the Lehigh River. I’ll post some pictures in the posts section of the channel. Thank you for watching.
