Around 10.00 a Great Spotted Woodpecker lands on the nest, hops up on the perch and announces his arrival with several noisy pecks at the log he's perched on. He stays for a few minutes before flying off. Resident male Laddie (LM12) was on the nest earlier, eating fish and bringing sticks. Laddie arrived home early on the 13th, his mate NC0 is due back on the 25th - maybe she'll be home early too - very exciting!
