Woman faces murder charge in alleged road rage shooting in Indianapolis

A 23-year-old woman is facing charges after she's accused of shooting and killing a man who honked at her while she was at a green light on Indianapolis' west side Friday afternoon.
The shooting was reported around 2 p.m. Oct. 17 in the 3600 block of Donald Avenue, near Georgetown Road and 38th Street.
Responding officers located a man who had been shot, who was taken to a hospital in critical condition, a department spokesperson said. The man, later identified as 21-year-old Kentrell Settles, was pronounced dead at the hospital from his injuries.
In an update Oct. 20, an IMPD spokesperson said 23-year-old Deborah Benefiel had been arrested in the case. According to online court records, Benefiel has been charged with murder and criminal recklessness.
