Plan out what you want to happen.

Why - There is the old cliche that you can’t get somewhere unless you know where you are going, and it is most certainly true.

But how do you plan without knowing where you fit into voice over?

Shouldn’t you know what genre you are in first before you plan? Or know what gear to buy and how to use it?

Shouldn’t you take some acting lessons for goodness sake?

I am going to throw a wrench in your plan to not plan. I want you to plan the life you want to live first. Go through what time you get up in the morning, how much you want to work, when you want to break from lunch, and what days of the week you will work. Figure out how much vacation time you want.

Once all of these plans are in place, then we can figure out how we are going to get there.

Most people focus on revenue, and that is important. But revenue is part of helping live the life we want.

How to start your voice over business begins with planning the life you want your voice over business to give you. Without that, you are driving around to nowhere.
