hi, i'm still absolutely losing my shit over julie and the phantoms and these two! there's something about this show, and sunset curve in particular, that really inspires me to vid music from like the early 2000s and this song especially has been one of my favorites for so, so long. if you are at all interested, i do have a luke&julie spotify playlist because that's where i'm at right now! i wanted this video to be more of an exploration of the relationship from julie's perspective, kind of digging into the depth of the song and the meaning behind the lyrics when it comes to loneliness, being seen, etc. the majority of the challenges of luke and julie's relationship initially stems from their inability to touch but i wanted to extrapolate on that more and highlight that, in the end, that never held them back. they still fell for each other based on how they have shared trauma, they understand each other and how much music means to them and they just SHOW up, they're there for each other, regardless of how impossible a future seems for them.
