Namaskar, sharing some clips from a recent Khayal performance in Kolkata.
The concert was dedicated to the rheme of Rains and was organised by The Terrace Concert, an organization that started in Kolkata and is currently based in Toronto, Canada.
I had chosen Gaud Malhar as the first Raag and here are some excerpts from the vilambit khayal, woven together.
The bandish was, 'Maan na kariye..' an all time popular and beautiful composition sung across all gharanas. I have tried to present the version that i had learnt from my Guruji.
Accompanying me on stage were Subhajyoti Guha on Tabla, Anirban Chakraborti on Harmonium and Anasuya Ray on Tanpura.
Sound was provided by Tintin Sounds of Kolkata and my personal video was recorded by Chandrima Mukherjee.
