In Crimson Keep, two rival clans, exiled from their kingdom, hold sacred twin amulets. During a rare Fire Moon eclipse, the amulets light up, guiding them to the Boiling Sea and a mysterious monolith. From there, the clans embark on a race to build the Crimson Keep and summon the fabled dragon to reclaim their rightful throne.

We’ll start by explaining how to set up the game, where each player draws five cards from their deck and keeps three. On your turn, you’ll perform two actions: Place or Replace a card, Flip a Card to activate it, Draw Cards, Use a Special Ability, Attack, or Move. Each action moves you up an action track, unlocking bonus actions as you progress. Managing your hand is key—if you end a turn with no cards, you get to draw automatically at the start of your next turn, saving an action!

There are three card types: Building, Combat, and Cavern. Building cards help you construct your keep, making it tall and fortified. Combat cards let you attack your rival clan, while Cavern cards enhance your abilities. We'll show how flipping cards activate their powers, adding layers of strategy to your gameplay.

Throughout the game, your actions, victories in combat, and fortress-building efforts help you discover runes. Runes are crucial for summoning the mighty dragon. The more powerful your runes, the stronger the dragon you can summon. But keep an eye on your opponent’s rune progress to avoid being outpaced!

Once a dragon is summoned, the game climaxes in an epic final battle. The dragon will attack the opposing clan’s fortress. If the fortress withstands the dragon’s onslaught, the defenders can injure and possibly defeat the dragon. Victory comes either by defeating the dragon or having your fortress stand strong while the rival’s keep falls.
