First, Jayarr heads to Patagonia-Sonoita Creek Preserve managed by the global nonprofit Nature Conservancy, well known for their dedication to land conservation. This area offers the ideal habitat, with a flowing creek, rich vegetation, and diverse wildlife.

Home to over 200 different species of birds, this wetland, known as a cienega, offers a unique environment showcasing the beauty of hiking in Arizona. As you embark on your Arizona hikes here, you’ll encounter lush greenery and a massive canopy overhead, creating a serene atmosphere on both sides of the trail. Next, we visit the Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch in Gilbert. In the heart of the Arizona desert, amidst the arid landscapes and sweltering sun, lies this oasis that embodies a harmonious blend of nature and innovation. Located towards the east side of Gilbert, the preserve is a fantastic place to spend time in nature while still being in the middle of the city.

The Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch is a bird lover's paradise, with over 300 species recorded since its opening in 1999. As part of the Arizona Important Bird Area program, recognized by BirdLife International and the National Audubon Society, it showcases a commitment to wildlife conservation and education. Here, hikers and birds coexist, offering a unique blend of urban and natural environments.
