Here's something I'd been following the progress of and rather excited for... a proper full Bugsnax oriented mod and it the excitement turned out to be toooooooottally justified, it's pretty damn great. The art is good(and suitably cute :)), the music's pretty good(easy on the ears too), I quite like the little custom UI elements and sound effects, etc etc.

Best of all, it's just fun to play. Has good charts that Don't Suck, Actually. It's not the most difficult thing in the world, but I don't believe that's a bad thing. Sometimes it's nice to be able to play something and just have a pleasant time and take everything in, which I think is a niche Bugsnax itself fulfills quite well.

Apologies for the slightly crunchy quality, I play better with the game not in fullscreen, so it's a little... stretched. Did help me play better, but you'll probably see... not 100% perfectly. Dangit.

First Song: Probably my favorite of the bunch, despite the fact I had to play through it the most to get a take I was (mostly) satisfied with. Real easy on the ears and a nice, short jam I'll probably listen to outside the mod too. Even more appreciated considering the aforementioned number of attempts. Lizbert's voice is also quite cute and I Like That. A great start.

Second Song: Also really like this one(we even go kinda Miku a bit in there), the first attempt actually kinda got my heart racing, since the sudden difficulty spike hit me in the face like a brick. But s'not really that difficult of a sequence to do, the charting makes it actually feel pretty good. At least, with the experience I've accumulated so far personally. Very intuitive sequence of inputs to make, though it was easy for me to flub the left and down note bits. Which comes down more to my (admittedly kinda iffy) motor control and not being left handed than anything else.

Was the biggest roadblock in getting a clean single session recording. Or I'd get past it and flub the following songs. Moral here is just learn how to use a damn video editing program and cut together successful attempts or something instead of being lazy like me. Or use it as an excuse to keep playing more.

Third Song: I like the theming here, but I see it as a bit more of a... leadup to the last than a track that stands all on its own. Like the start before the drop, y'know? Not to say it's bad, of course. Then as you can see, this is where I actually miss some notes. Those double taps really get my ass, I guess. After all the past attempts, I decided to say fuck it and keep the flow going. Sometimes you just gotta take the losses and have mercy on your hands/wrists, unfortunately. Mine are pretty tuckered out, tell you what. Also haha funny Fibo :)

Last Song: By far the coolest display of the mod, methinks. The background work, general tone, subtle rocking of the boat(for some reason that kept making me think of Hotline Miami), fast ass scroll speed, and Lizbert crushing that poor, if parasitic Bunger... looking even angrier after... yeah good stuff. Although I will say that I was always too busy paying attention to playing to actually see Lizbert do the deed. I had to watch the video back to see it for myself, and I just knew that it happened from having followed progress of the mod prior. And, well, the splatter on the ground *after*. So that's a shame.

But overall a nice conclusion. Can't help but think it might give an alternate impression of Liz if you didn't know the story of the game beforehand, however. :p Unless that was the point? No idea! Either way, highly recommend giving this one a try.
Glad that the creator decided to actually go through with it, and not only that, but continue working even after losing a good chunk of their progress on the mod a good ways through development. Hell, when they were even nearly finished, IIRC. Good on them for that.

And if you're reading yourself, you did a damn good job. Fantastic work. One of my overall favorites for sure.
