The reason I decided to catch these queens is that I didn't get to experience having the first nanitics eclose from a queen that I caught, as my other 2 colonies were from a store and both arrived with workers.

Once the queens start to outgrow their test tubes, I will need to re home them as I can't keep an additional 8 colonies on top of my existing colonies (my Emarginatus and Flavus).

The reason I caught so many is that you never know if they're fertile, or if disaster will strike: I know that previously BasicAnts was unfortunate enough to lose 3 out of the 4 queens he caught for his tutorial videos - it appears this may have been due to some sort of parasite as they started acting very strangely right before they died.

If anyone is invested in one (or more) of the queens (and you're willing to pay postage), let me know. Priority will be given to anyone living in the UK as I don't want them spending any longer in transit then is needed.

I am hoping to acquire a newly mated Lasius Umbratus queen, so if I am successful, I may need to sacrifice one of the colonies as Umbratus are parasitic queens, meaning they can't start their own colonies and are forced to infiltrate and take over an existing colony by killing the original queen and taking her scent to fool the workers.
