On 7th May 1999, presenters Caron Keating and Ross Kelly met the inspirational Oliver Postgate. The popular stop-frame animated series "Bagpuss" that Postgate had created with Peter Firmin had just been voted the nation's favourite children's TV show in a Daily Mail poll. Oliver brought many original models to the studio including the original Bagpuss, Gabriel and Madelaine, Professor Yaffle and mice, plus Clangers and froglets. Bagpuss was presented with a cake in celebration of his 25th anniversary, while members of the production team took part in an homage to the original Bagpuss title sequence.
