Kings X Over My Head Ty Tabor Guitar Solo with TAB

Описание: I am honestly listening intensely to King's X for the time this week. I have always heard about them but I've never actually taken the deep dive until now. I was requested this guitar solo and so I had to listen to the whole album and I"m completely blown away. This record sounds like a precursor to many 90's bands like Alice in Chains and Pearl Jam, but they also have this Funk Metal sound that is also a precursor to the 2nd and 3rd Extreme albums. The production on this album is immaculate and Ty Tabor's guitar tone is absolutely prefect. My expectations were exceeded on every level after hearing this album. I also really like how the lyrics and melodies have a positive feeling to them. It's an incredible juxtaposition to the aggressive rhythm section. I know this is often viewed as their magnum opus so I might have set my expectations a little too high for this one, regardless I'm really looking forward to listening to the rest of their discography.

The guitar solo has an incredible feel to it. It's a perfect mixture of Blues, Hard Rock and Funk. The guitar is also doubled. I did a double afterward on the bridge and middle pickup together to give it a different tone to mix it with the first take which was the bridge pickup. I used the same settings on the plug-ins. Doubling the guitar solo is good for a couple of reasons. It makes it sound much bigger, and it also hides some of the inaccuracies of both takes. The only downside is you have to learn the solo exactly the same. Sometimes is doesn't really matter though because at the end of this solo Ty is a little off with the whammy bar parts and it still sounds awesome. Free Bird and Crazy Train are other solos that come to mind that are doubled
