Death Valley is located in California right next to the Nevada border. It can be really hot in the summer time so make sure you you have plenty of water wherever you go. The temperature often go up in the 120F range (in the shade) and you will dry out quickly. In the winter time it could be really cold and rough.
There is a great campground just North of Furnace Creek where you can put up a tent or sleep in your car or RV etc. You have to pay a fee to stay there.
