This video continues a short series exploring how responsibility, agency, and authorship become increasingly difficult to locate as we offload more cognitive and creative labor to AI systems.
Rather than arguing for or against AI as a technology, this piece focuses on something subtler:
how interaction with these systems reshapes the way we think about decision-making, ownership, and intention—often without us noticing it happening.
This episode builds on the previous videos by examining where the “work” actually occurs in human-AI collaboration, and why that distinction matters—not morally, but structurally. When a system produces outcomes without requiring us to traverse the internal steps ourselves, what changes in how we understand our own role?
This series is not a rejection of technology, nor a call for purity. It is an attempt to articulate a missing middle category—something between “tool” and “agent”—and to explore how that category alters our relationship to effort, creativity, and accountability.
Further videos will expand these ideas toward topics such as deskilling, authorship, and the long-term cultural consequences of frictionless creation.
