I join Mercedes for the most incredible journey, into the Madikwe Game Reserve in South Africa for the launch of the new Maybach G 650 Landaulet; a truly special version of the G Class that will be built in limited numbers to just 99 units.
I've never previously been on safari, let alone in such a vehicle, and the setting could not have been better! As we head around the park, riding in the luxurious open rear cabin of the halo G650, it allowed the opportunity to spot lions and elephants. With a 630PS/1000Nm 6l Biturbo V12 from the G65 AMG, the underpinnings of the G500 4x4^2, and the interior seats and finish from the Maybach S 600; it's a remarkable machine.
