Kaili City is located in the southeast of Guizhou Province, China, and is the capital of Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture. As a gathering place for ethnic minorities such as the Miao and Dong ethnic groups, Kaili is famous for its rich ethnic culture and unique folk customs.

Completely different from weekdays, the streets of Kaili old town on Sundays are full of stalls and people coming and going. The fair of the Sunday market in Kaili is mainly the old street. There are also people setting up stalls on both sides of the sidewalks in the old town's Dongmen Street, Ximen Street, Yingpan West Road, and Yingpan East Road. Every Sunday, some ethnic minorities around Kaili City will carry baskets and shoulder poles to the market to buy and sell some local specialties and handicrafts. The market usually lasts a whole day. Because Guizhou has many mountains, many ethnic minorities still live in the mountains. Every weekend, they take out the things they grow to sell. The products of the Kaili Sunday market are rich, good quality and cheap, and the vegetables and fruits are very fresh. Most of the people who come to the market are locals, and it is very lively.

Kaili Old Street, located near first shopping mall in Kaili City, Guizhou Province, is not a single street, but consists of two main streets, Dongmen Street and Ximen Street, and several surrounding alleys. As the center of Kaili Old Town, it has a history of more than 600 years. There are a few red brick and blue tile buildings on the old street paved with bluestone slabs, and there are also traditional old shops such as second-hand shops, bamboo shops, silver shops, and ethnic clothing shops in the alleys.
