It's been so difficult coming to terms with the fact that Avery may have Cerebral Visual Impairment, because she focuses and follows really well, and we've seen an incredible improvement in her vision. But since Avery has HIE, it just isn't that simple.

For Avery it may not be that there is anything wrong with her eyes structurally, as far as we know there is not. But the way her brain processes the information her eyes give to it may be impaired. This could mean so many things, and because Avery can't communicate what she sees, there's is really no way of knowing for sure.

Alongside Avery's appointment this day I also took the boys school shoe shopping for the new school year, and I finally reorganised Avery's clothes, although they didn't need much sorting, my 18 month old daughter still fits into some of her 6-9 month clothes!
