Home Style Ragda Patties
Total preparation time:- 45 min
Serving:- 2
Ingredients
For cooking White Peas Curry (Ragda)
1. 250 gm dried white peas
2. 2 cups water
3. 1 tsp turmeric
4. 1 tsp salt
Potato Patties:
1. 3 boiled potato
2. 1 tbsp turmeric
3. 1 tbsp salt
4. 1 green chili finely chopped
5. ½ tsp coriander powder
To serve Ragda Patties:
1. 1 bowl curd
2. Green chutney
3. Tamarind chutney
4. Finely chopped onion
5. Finely chopped tomato
6. Finely chopped coriander to garnish
7. Sev – Papdi
8. Salt as per taste
Method to cook Ragda:
1. Soak white peas for overnight. Rinse well.
2. In a pressure cooker add peas, a glass of water, 1 tsp turmeric and 1½ tsp salt. Cook for 15 mins.
3. Take 3 boiled potatoes and mash it well.
4. Add, finely chopped green chili, ½ tsp turmeric, 1 tsp salt, ½ tsp coriander powder.
5. Mix them to make smooth dough.
6. Make small balls and gently press it between the palms and make round shaped pattie.
7. Heat a flat pan, shallow fry the pattie.
8. Flip each pattie upside down until it turns golden brown, add oil as needed.
Method to serve Ragda patties:
1. To serve add a big spoon cooked ragda on a plate, add 2-3 pattie and one big spoon ragda on the pattie
2. Add curd, tamarind chutney, chopped onion, tomato, garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves and sev papdi.
