The focus of the webinar is on the latest trends with regard to the development in ports and the surroundings from a transport and logistics point of view. Items discussed here are the functions of ports and the activities that are being conducted and what the expectations are for the near future. Hereby also the industrial developments (Industry 4.0) are considered as well as the role that human capital plays in this. Finally, an outlook is provided of the possible impact COVID-19 has on the future of ports, transport and logistics.

About the speaker:

Mr. Adson Hofman has a BSc in Business Administration and a MSc in Supply Chain Management, both from the Erasmus University Rotterdam. Currently he is the area manager for South East Asia at STC International, where he is responsible for project management, identification, investigation, analysis and evaluation in the clusters maritime & offshore, ports & terminals, transport & logistics and process industry & energy. Activities in the role of Area Manager South East Asia are related to responsibility of the projects done in South East Asia in above mentioned clusters regarding training, consultancy and research. Moreover, he is also the Training Director of Tancang-STC in Vietnam.

He has been involved as project manager in numerous projects concerning capacity development at universities and training centres in Indonesia, Bangladesh and South Africa among others. Next, he provides training in the field of port, transport and logistics to audiences from Latin America, Africa and Asia.
