Exercises to improve intrinsic and extrinsic foot muscle activation:
1) Short foot/doming (intrinsic)
2) 1st and 5th MTPJ flexion with resistance band (intrinsic)
(a good alternative if you find the short foot too tricky)
3) Piano toes (intrinsic & extrinsic)
4) Rock paper scissors (intrinsic & extrinsic)
5) Towel gather (intrinsic & extrinsic)
Videos are to go with my talk 'Performing Feet' (Foot and Ankle Injuries in Dancers) and should be done under guidance of a physiotherapist or equivalent. This video does not replace a full assessment and prescribed exercises by a trained professional. Video is for demonstration purposes only.
