A skewed level crossing at the side of the Brighton Main Line in Burgess Hill, West Sussex. Despite being well within Burgess Hill, and close to Wivelsfield Station, the crossing oddly takes its official name from Keymer, a part of the village of Hassocks about two miles south of it. Given its close location to a junction, London-bound trains may be held before the crossing while they await their turns to join the busy Brighton Main Line from this line, a four-trains-an-hour spur of the East Coastway Line between here and Lewes, and the railway also curves tightly here, providing much wheel flange squeal. The four barrier pedestals and their 'booms' date back to a barrier renewal in 2018/19, and the crossing retains mid-2010's LED wigwags and two old-looking alarms from before then, and one of the two of the latter has an odd high-pitched tone. Another feature of interest here is an original and peculiar-looking mount for one of the near-side wigwags in one corner of the crossing, something seen quite rarely.
