A short video on the re-powering and upgrading of M/V EDDA FONN – to become the ‘big heart’ of New Zealand. A new MAN 12V175D generating set was installed in Denmark during the vessel’s upgrading at Orskov Yard, Frederikshavn. Frank Dyer of the New Zealand Ministry of Defence and Per Lunde of MAN Energy Solutions present a short view of key parameters, expectations and challenges to the re-powering job. Upon arrival to New Zealand, the ship was re-named to HMNZS MANAWANUI, which is Maori for ‘big heart’.
