Super rare 1968 Gibson ES-335 TDC Custom in beautiful Cherry finish, with rare factory stop-tailpiece and even more rare factory P-90 "Dogear" singlecoil pickups instead of humbuckers who are usually installed in all 335 - models! We really checked this guitar very close when we bought it, as we´ve never seen nor have we heard about a similar guitar before. Without any doubt, is this a special order, as there are no extra screw-holes from a former Trapeze- or Bigsby tailpiece. The pickups and their cavities are definately factory routed for a "Dog-ear" P-90 pick-up, no visible signs of a formerly installed humbucker or their M-69 pick-up rings, also stock is the sustainblock which is standard for all ES-335 models! The complete instrument is in excellent condition and came like this all original from the factory. Barely any visible playwear and only little weatherchecking, the original frets are still in perfect shape. The beautiful Cherry finish is still extrem bright in color and dosn´t show any fading at all. The two original P-90 "Dog-ear" pickups have well balanced outputs of N=7,78 K-Ohm and B=7,88 K-Ohm. All solderjoints are original and untouched, the pots are stamped 137.67.xx. Very warm sounding and well balanced guitar, very nice and open clean sounds with much more sustain and "balls" than any 330 models because of the factory sustain-block, great crunchy sounds when played overdriven. The guitar comes in its original black hardshell-case w/yellow lining.
