This is a video of my doing a natural product extraction by steam distillation of Carvone and Limonene (caraway oil) from caraway seeds, which is a chemistry experiment that is performed by students in the undergraduate teaching laboratories. The purpose of this video is to give students an insight into what the experiment 'looks like' as a means to tackle the 'lab anxiety' students may feel prior to performing a new reaction in the laboratory.
Disclaimer: This video is is purely for demonstration purposes, and looks a little messy in places due to holding the camera to record at the same time. Students should take much more care in their experiment performance.
