Pirate’s Cove is a Zamperla Disk’O flat ride that features a large circular disk with outward-facing seats, rotating as it glides back and forth along a curved track. The ride simulates the motion of sailing rough waters, with rising and falling action that gives a gentle thrill. Riders must be over 105cm to experience the attraction, which is one of the park’s more adventurous options for older children. Those under 105cm are not permitted to ride.

Set in the heart of the nautically themed Smugglers Wharf area, Pirate’s Cove combines spinning motion with a pirate-themed backdrop, including a stylised skull rock face at its centre. The ride opened in 2011 and remains a popular attraction for families looking to balance gentler rides with something more exhilarating. Themed to match its seafaring surroundings, Pirate’s Cove delivers a classic flat ride experience while enhancing the immersive atmosphere of the area.

Smugglers Wharf is themed around coastal towns and pirate adventures, featuring a mix of family attractions with maritime styling. Nearby you’ll find other water and boat-themed experiences including Smuggler’s Boating School. The area fits into the wider layout of Gulliver’s World, offering variety between lands like Safari Kingdom, Gully Town, and Lilliput Land.

Before the newest themed zone, Land of Oz, opened at the park, Gulliver’s introduced Gears, an area focused on mechanics and interactive movement-based attractions. Gears features rides like Traffic Jam and continues the park’s mission to combine themed play with physical activity.

The latest development at the park is the Land of Oz, which includes attractions inspired by the Wizard of Oz, such as the Winged Monkey Ride, the Upside Down House, and Munchkin Motor. It adds bold visuals and new experiences to the park’s expanding collection of family-focused lands.

Gulliver’s World opened in 1989 and is located in Warrington, Cheshire. It is the second Gulliver’s park to be built in the UK after the original Gulliver’s Kingdom in Matlock Bath. Designed specifically for children aged 2 to 13, the park features a wide variety of themed zones, outdoor rides, and indoor play areas, as well as accommodation options at the Gulliver’s Hotel. Key rides include The Antelope, Apache Falls, Desperado Drop, and multiple seasonal and themed play zones.

Gulliver’s World is one of four UK theme parks operated by Gulliver’s, including Gulliver’s Kingdom in Matlock Bath, Gulliver’s Land in Milton Keynes, and Gulliver’s Valley in Rotherham.
