A massive fire at SCB Medical College’s trauma ICU in Cuttack has claimed 10 lives. Several hospital staff members were also injured during rescue efforts. But tragically, this is not an isolated incident. From Jhansi’s NICU tragedy to fires in Delhi and Jaipur, similar incidents keep recurring. Electrical faults, oxygen leaks and overcrowded wards often become deadly triggers.
Investigations repeatedly point to safety lapses. Yet accountability and lasting change remain rare.
