I would liberally guess if your lucky you will run into a blitz far far less then 10% of the time on the surf. FAR LESS. The other 90% of the time you are fishing. Many time as well a striped bass blitz can be timed. However life happens on earth you simply can't be at two places at two times doing two things unless your Schrödinger's cat and/or live in a parallel time space all on the same coordinate system. This would be far more likely to occur then running into a blitz every time you fish.

The striped bass are out and the surf needs to be worked. A few hours here and there will yield some nice fish even if you miss those epic bites. When fishing for moving stray stripers I really enjoy working a needlefish far and wide. The needle covers a lot of water and I can work it as I move. you will also cull a few bigger stripers even if smaller striped bass are around. It was a pretty good night FISHING. Walking the surf, placing casts and switching weights. A missed tic followed by a striped bass keeps it going.
