Sindhi Style Chana Dal Palak
Servings - 3
INGREDIENTS
Split bengal gram - 200 grams
Water - 500 milliliters
Oil - 2 tablespoons
Onions - 120 grams
Garlic - 1/2 teaspoon
Tomato - 80 grams
Green chili - 1 teaspoon
Salt - 1 teaspoon
Red chili - 1/4 teaspoon
Turmeric - 1/2 teaspoon
Water - 350 milliliters
Oil - 2 teaspoons
Garlic - 1 teaspoon
Dry red chili - 3
Spinach - 150 grams
Coriander - 4 grams
Warm water - 150 milliliters
Paprika - 1/4 teaspoon
Dry fenugreek leaves - 1 teaspoon
PREPARATION
1. In a bowl, add 200 grams split bengal gram, 500 milliliters water and soak for 1 hour.
2. Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a pressure cooker, add 120 grams onions and cook for 4 - 5 minutes.
3. Add 1/2 teaspoon garlic and cook for 2 minutes.
4. Add 80 grams tomato, 1 teaspoon green chili and cook for 1 - 2 minutes.
5. Add 1 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon red chili, 1/2 teaspoon turmeric and cook for 5 minutes.
6. Add soaked Split Bengal gram and mix it well.
7. Add 350 milliliters water and cook for 1 - 2 minutes.
8. Cover it with lid and cook until you hear 2 - 3 whistles.
9. Open the lid and remove it from heat.
10. Heat 2 teaspoon oil in a heavy skillet, add 1 teaspoon garlic, 3 dry red chili and saute for 1 minute.
11. Add 150 grams spinach, 4 grams coriander and cook for 5 - 7 minutes.
12. Add cooked dal and cook for 2 - 3 minutes.
13. Add 150 milliliters warm water and mix it well.
14. Cover it with lid and cook for 8 - 10 minutes.
15. Open the lid and stir well.
16. Add 1/4 teaspoon paprika, 1 teaspoon dry fenugreek leaves and cook for 1 - 2 minutes.
17. Remove it from heat.
18. Serve hot.
