This is a brief historical record of Wolverhampton Airport (Pendeford) and is published to commemorate 50 years since it closed in 1970.
The video identifies the location of the airport and highlights some of its main features. It contains still frames from the Ealing Studios film “The Man in the Sky”; primarily to illustrate the airport as it was in 1957.
Wolverhampton Airport (Pendeford) - sometimes referred to as Fordhouses, should not be confused with the currently used Wolverhampton Halfpenny Green Airport at Bobbington in South Staffordshire.
