► The latest on a gas explosion that destroyed a house in Birmingham yesterday evening. Emergency services have confirmed that a woman's body was found inside the rubble - while a man remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries.

He was pulled out by residents who say they clambered through flames, dust and debris to reach him - their actions have been described by firefighters as "heroic". Investigators are at the scene now, looking into what exactly caused the explosion.
