Sevai Upma is a delicious, homemade, quick and easy to make breakfast recipe where crispy vermicelli are cooked in urad dal, curry leaves, green chilli and mild spices.
Ingredients:
3 tbsp Ghee
1 tsp Urad Dal
1 tsp Mustard Seeds
2-3 Green Chillies
8-10 Curry Leaves
3 Onions, chopped
2 tsp Sugar
1 tsp Ginger paste
2 Cups Vermicelli
Salt to taste
Coriander Leaves
Water
Method:
In a pan heat some ghee.
Add urad dal. Roast them golden brown.
Then add mustard seeds, green chillies and curry leaves. Let them splutter.
Add chopped onions, ginger paste and sugar. Mix everything well.
Add vermicelli and mix well.
Add water enough for the vermicelli to cook.
Add salt and give a stir.
Cover it with a lid and let the upma cook for 5-7 minutes.
When the vermicelli is cooked our upma is ready.
Garnish it with coriander leaves and serve.
