3D Printing a Stereo Sun Visor for Road Glide (Fusion 360 + PLA/ABS Prototype to Final Paint)
The conclusion of a project to create a 3D-printed stereo visor for the Harley Davidson Road Glide to reduce glare and make the screen easier to see when the sun is behind or to the side. We walk through key Fusion 360 dimensions and design choices, adding a retaining lip to hold the part between the fairing and stereo, and printing a PLA prototype before making an ABS version for finishing. We sand to remove layer lines, apply a primer filler, multiple coats of gloss black, and several coats of clear, then wet sand and polish, noting a mistake that required additional clear. We explain how to flex the fairing by loosening specific screws to avoid major disassembly, install the visor, and show the added coverage while keeping the full screen visible.
