San Sabino a new modern Italian-American restaurant by wife and husband chefs Angie Rito and Scott Tacinelli of Don Angie in partnership with Quality Branded has officially opened in the West Village.

🇮🇹 Named after Scott’s maternal grandfather, who is named after the patron saint of Sanza in the Italian region of Campania, San Sabino has nods to the duo’s Italian-American families.

🍝 The menu challenges what Italian-American dishes look like outside of your typical red sauce spots, with dishes such as the Scallop Crudo with kiwi and Piedmontese hazelnuts and Stuffed Farfalle with smoked chili crab, yellow chive and tobiko.
The menu celebrates the United States’ Italian-American diaspora, with nods across the country to San Francisco, New Orleans, New York, and New Jersey.

🐠 The menu focuses on seafood and handmade pastas, with menu items such as the Crab & Mortadella Dip with Ritz crackers and sweet cherry pepper jelly, Octopus Carpaccio, Lobster Triangoli, and their take on a Shrimp Parm. Don’t skip on the Spicy Tuna which is Broken Arancini and Rabe Furikake with Charred Scallion Crema.

🍸 Sip on one of their cocktails such as the Scottie’s Martini with Garlic Bread Vodka, spicy brine, and giant olives or the Belmar Special acting as their version of a spirit-forward espresso highball.

🌞 The interior features butter yellow tones, a curved back-lit bar, and lacquered mahogany tables, blending Italian high design with retro elements.
