The 1990 Singapore 50 Cents coin features the nation’s coat of arms at its center, flanked by a lion and a tiger, symbolizing Singapore and Malaysia respectively. Above the emblem is the word “SINGAPURA” in Malay, while “SINGAPORE” is inscribed at the bottom in English, accompanied by Tamil and Chinese inscriptions on either side. The national motto “MAJULAH SINGAPURA” appears on a banner beneath the emblem. This coin has an octagonal shape, is minted in copper-nickel or nickel-brass composition, and was part of Singapore’s second coin series in circulation during the late 20th century.
