In the 1960s, Hollywood couldn't get enough of Clairtone Sound Corp.'s stylish hi-fi stereos. Clairtone's Project G and G2 appeared in countless movies, as seen in this selection of clips from "Marriage on the Rocks" (Frank Sinatra, Deborah Kerr, and Dean Martin, 1965), "I'll Take Sweden" (Bob Hope, Frankie Avalon, and Tuesday Weld, 1966), "A Fine Madness" (Sean Connery, 1966), "The Oscar" (1966), "Good Times" (Sonny & Cher, 1967), "The Graduate" (Dustin Hoffman and Anne Bancroft, 1967), "The Party" (Peter Sellers, 1968), and "Invincible" (Mark Wahlberg and Elizabeth Banks, 2006).
Clairtone & The Power of Hollywood was created for "The Art Of Clairtone: The Making Of A Design Icon," a 2008 exhibition celebrating the 50th anniversary of Clairtone's launch at Toronto's Design Exchange museum. The exhibition coincided with the release of a book about Clairtone, also named "The Art Of Clairtone," by Nina Munk and Rachel Gotlieb.
