The Parisian style was adapted over the decades, and with the rise of the Congolese rumba scene in the 1950s, the Sapeurs soon became essential to the fabric of Congolese life.
Head of Content Alicia-Rae Light rubbed shoulders with the Sapeurs on her recent trip to the capital city and was blown away by the bold styles, bowties, and bowler hats.
