Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest - Part 5 (No Commentary)

Описание: A Hard Mode playthrough of Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest, a Nintendo 3DS entry in the Fire Emblem series, known for its three different campaigns. This playthrough covers the Conquest route.

I'm playing this on Hard difficulty, which is the middle level difficulty for this game. I do also add some small limitations for my personal enjoyment of the game removing features which I'm not really a big fan of personally. Rally Skills are banned, Most my castle establishments are banned (I'll use the shops and the prison and the stuff you need to unlock more units), Tonics are banned (though I do allow for them to be sold for money) and once they join the party proper Leo's and Xander's exclusive weapons are both banned.

In this part progression slows down a bit as I get to the point where I unlock most of the game's optional Paralogue chapters based on the S rank supports you unlock giving you new characters and rewards, I only do two main story missions Chapter 20 and Chapter 21, but I also do the Paralogues for Ophelia, Kana and Dwyer.

Chapter 20 Winds of Change - 0:05:00
The "wind map" or "Fuga's wild ride" as I recall this map being called back in the day, a tough map with tight corridors, some remarkably tough enemies and wind gimmick that moves your units all over the place making things quite difficult, I don't find the gimmick as annoying as some seem to, this is just a very difficult map and even on my "successful" run I unfortunately ended up losing Silas, sucks cus he was quite good but I figured I'm gonna get several new units soon anyway that it was probably a manageable loss, and I got his kid too already.

Paralogue 20 Ultimate Power - 1:07:10
This is the map you unlock by getting an S support for Odin, in this case with Nyx, who is hardly an optimal choice to make Ophelia better I found, I honestly plump forgot all about the skill inheritance stuff and whatever so Ophelia is largely just a Nyx 1.5 brought up to par with the rest of the team with nothing really standing out, still from up to where I have played she does seem decent enough still which probably does speak volumes for just powerful she could potentially be if you do plan for it and give her some funky skills. This is actually my first time ever playing this map as I have never used Odin beyond the early game before, it's a simple yet fun map with some remarkably useful weapons for your spellcaster characters. There's an captureable boss here as well but he seems kind of mediocre to me and not really worth the effort.

Paralogue 2 Dragon Blood - 1:51:30
This is a map for Corrin's kid Kana, a map which you're going to unlock in just about every playthrough. It's a really simple and easy one and doesn't really give you anything particularly useful aside from exp and support points (and apparently two captureable Berserker bosses also appear as reinforcements but you do need to slow down and hold back if you want to see them), I went with the Gunter pairing which courtesy of his Jeigan growth rates kind of ruins any chances of Kana being good for much I'd wager. I mostly did this map just to build up Support points for the Leo/Azura support which I was fearing I wouldn't be able to reach before endgame.

Chapter 21 Eternal Stairway - 2:35:23
This is a weird one, you face a bunch of those faceless monsters which you have not really seen since early game joined by these new mudmen-coinface creatures that are capable of powerful long ranged attacks, the enemies outnumber you in a pretty big way here and they do hit hard but the map is largely trivialized by the Dragon Veins which stop all enemies to their tracks, really ultimately leaving the ranged enemies as the only real threat in the map, I think there was only a single turn spent here where I was not able to freeze the enemies. It's a bit of a breather map, I think there would be an infinite amount of enemies spawning to the map if you were to spend time here since the devs gave all the reinforcing faceless a skill which makes it so that they don't give you any exp, I guess fearing that players would grind in the campaign that is specifically designed for the limited resources. There's also some remarkably dumb cutscenes here, I believe on my first playthrough I didn't even remember who Lilith was supposed to be.

Paralogue 4 Fight or Flight - 3:16:28
This is a for Dwyer, Jakob's kid, I'm not entirely if I've ever gotten this character before as I have generally played with the Male Main character meaning you get Jakob way later. The map itself is largely unremarkable, Dwyer comes with some handy staves though and with the Camilla pairing I am hoping that he'd make for a halfway decentish Malig Knight, though that remains to be seen.
