LISA the Painful - Defeating Demon X

Описание: For those who do not know, Demon X is an optional "boss" who is intended to be unbeatable. In fact, you HAVE to lose the fight with him in order to progress the scene in which you encounter him. According to the LISA wiki, his stats are 999,999 HP, 999 attack, 999 special attack, 999 defense, 999 special defense, 999 agility, and 10 luck. So, he has a ridiculously high amount of health and his defense makes it impossible to hurt him with regular attacks as far as I know. His only move, X Chop, targets all party members at once and tends to do roughly 100,000 damage, more than enough for a 1-hit KO.

Regardless, he does still have weaknesses that allow you to defeat him. He can be poisoned, and poison removes about 10% of an enemy's max health every turn. Thus, even enemies with really high health and defense can be defeated in not that many turns if they are constantly poisoned.

You can also make him take damage by making him pissed and having him hit himself, but this tends to do much less damage and is very unreliable. That said, while he is pissed, he only seems to target one party member at a time, rather than use X Chop to target every party member, so it can be useful for minimizing his number of KOs per turn.

However, while you're waiting for his health to run out, you need to do something to keep him incapacitated so he can't just keep knocking out you and your party members. Yes, you need to get lucky with misses/evasions to survive the first turn or two, but you can't rely on that for the whole battle. There are various statuses that prevent enemies from attacking, such as stun, scared, paralysis, and confusion. Brad has some moves with potential to cause stun, like Headbutt. However, Harvey's Wrongful Accusation, which can cause confusion, tends to be more effective, since confusion can last more turns than stun. Harvey also has Slander, which can cause other useful status effects: pissed, crying, and scared.

Once you can achieve a steady loop of poisoning and incapacitating Demon X, you're probably in the clear. In my experience, the hardest part of the fight to survive is usually the beginning.
