France September 2022

Описание: The first part of a little video of some of our stops in France and life along the way heading South to Toulon. Hope you enjoy it and please feel free to ask any questions if you want any further information about the places we stayed.

1st stop: Notre-Dame-De-Lorette. Chris's gradfather helped make the stained glass windows here. It's a French Military cemetery that is the largest French one in the world. It's at the highest point above the village of Ablain-Saint-Nazaire. The ground was strategically very important in the first world war where there was a series of long battles.

Next : Pont-Sainte-Maxence. The town has a car park for 5 motorhomes free of charge. All the spaces were taken so with the permission of the local police we parked in one of the normal parking places.

Next: Chateau-Landon. It's not touristy but genuinely a beautiful and authentic French village that's really worth a visit
The village is built on a rocky outcrop overlooking the green valley of the Fussain, which earned it its nickname of "Rocamadour" of Gâtinais. Close by is Souppes-Sur-Loing another nice place to visit with an outdoor Leisure Center. An exceptional natural setting for swimming. It has been labeled "Blue Flag" since 200. We will post again about here next year when we revisit, but suffice to say it's also lovely and a good holiday spot with a lot of leisure activities. There is a campsite and a motorhome park up there too. We parked up by a small lake, 4km from Chateau Landon in Souppes-Sur-Loing. A little park up just off the road but quiet and peaceful with picnic benches. A lovely peaceful few nights' sleep. Said our farewells to family and rolled on.

Next: Dry in a free area provided by the village. Dry is in the Centre-Val de Loire region of France. The town is located within the perimeter of the Loire Valley, listed as a UNESCO World site.

Next: Chenonceaux Château for a special visit to do something special for our anniversary. parked up in a quiet spot by the river. A separate video of our time here - link below

Next: Moutier-d'Ahun .Where my mum used to have a house and we spent many family holidays here. La Creuse region is a tranquil, not-so-well-known region of France. It's very lush and green and the weather is never guaranteed here but a place worth a visit for some genuine French rural life.

Next: Letoing: It's a little medieval village sitting on A hilltop surrounded by beautiful views. There's a little park 4 nights in Léotoing Occitan: in the Haute-Loire, south-central of France.

Next stop: Gorges du Tarn We've been enjoying a few beautiful days in the Gorges du Tarn in the middle of the Cevennes mountain region.
stayed at an Aire in Quézac in the Gorges du Tarn region. We are staying on a piece of land owned by an 87-year-old man. It's a very cute little village. No shops just homes and allotments by the river.
