We’ve missed you, ScreenRanters. Welcome back into our digital arms! Today, we’re going to take a look at some fabled Marvel history. Over the years, since Marvel characters first arrived on the Silver Screen, many actors have been “confirmed” in superhero roles. For one reason or another, it sometimes doesn’t pan out. It can be due to scheduling problems. Maybe it was only a made-up rumour. Or perhaps it might be down to the actor tanking the audition. We’re going to look at all the reasons why the actor’s casting never came to be. As well as what could have been.

So, here’s the obligatory spoiler warning for what you can expect in the video. We have such entries as Leonardo DiCaprio. He was linked to a particular role in the Spider-Man franchise. We also have Supernatural’s Jensen Ackles. He was up for two roles. One of which was Captain America. The other role might surprise you. Click bait done poorly. Fantastic Four fans have already cast John Krasinski and Emily Blunt in roles. However, they were linked with Marvel roles well before the FF were brought into the fold. Krasinski, for slightly hilarious reasons, didn’t get the role. You’ll also find out why House’s Olivia Wilde didn’t arrive in the MCU. Little Women thespian, Saoirse Ronan, was touted for a role too. Find out which role Joker actor, Joaquin Phoenix, was almost cast in!
