Watch my bus journey from Manipal to Bangalore by Bharathi Travels Non AC Sleeper bus. Manipal is about 5 kms from Udupi city. The suburb is located in coastal Karnataka, 62 km north of Mangalore and 8 km east of the Arabian Sea. From its location on a plateau, at an altitude of about 75 m above sea level, it commands a panoramic view of the Arabian Sea to the west and the Western Ghats to the east. Home to the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), the town attracts more than twenty five thousand students every year and hence most of the population is students or university staff. It is one of the most cosmopolitan towns of India, reflected in its numerous cafes attracting students and faculty from around 60 countries.

Bharathi Travels is one of the fastest buses on this route. Their buses start from Manipal itself. I booked the Non AC 8:45 pm bus from Tiger Circle in Manipal. I was traveling on the 28th of September, 2023 & the next day was the Karnataka bandh. So the bus was actually picking up passengers a bit early so that they could reach Bangalore early as well to avoid any inconvenience. Our bus reached Mangalore by 10 pm, 15 mins before time. The Shiradi Ghat road has improved a bit but in patches its still bad. We were stuck in traffic in Shiradi Ghat for almost 30 mins. We then took an alternate route & joined Sakleshpur. Our bus overtook many buses along the way. We reached Yeshwanthpur (Bangalore) by 5:20 am.
