The Secret Lagoon is great. But it is not exactly secret. What they won't tell you is that there is a real secret lagoon just up the river. The water in Hrunlaug is rainwater that flows over a warm rock. Making it a cozy 37°+ celcius (98°f). It is rich in minerals which is apparently a good thing. Hrunlaug is in a truly beautiful setting, and it is highly recommended you visit even if you don't intend to go in. Bring 1000 krónas per person, it is easier to pay that way. This place is technically open to the public as long as you pitch in so the landowners can maintain the place.
