Improve bump setting with left, middle, right drill

With passing, we don’t normally teach a lot of legwork. It’s the opposite with bump setting. To produce a consistently hittable ball, a player needs to lift with the legs while using an angled platform and minimal arm swing. Practice this technique using the drill below.
Left, middle, right drill
Purpose: To produce a consistent bump set.
How it works: Instruct players to pair up with a partner, standing about 30 feet away from each other. Players pass back and forth following a left, middle, right pattern where they pass the ball first from the left side of their body, then the middle, and lastly the right side of the body.
Requirements: Two players, a ball, and a court
