Welcome to another episode of the MrExcel netcast. In this episode, we will be diving into Chapter 2 of our Excel Charts and Graphs book, where we will be discussing how to use shapes as markers in your charts and graphs. This is a great way to add some visual interest to your data and make your charts stand out.

Have you ever wanted to replace those boring column markers in your column chart with something more exciting, like arrows? Well, in this podcast, I will show you just how easy it is to do. First, we will go to the Insert tab and browse through the shapes to find the perfect arrow shape. Once we have selected the arrow, we will draw it to the desired height on our chart.

Now, here's the trick. Instead of just inserting the arrow as a separate shape, we will actually copy it to the clipboard by using the shortcut CTRL+C. Then, we will click on the series that has the column markers and use the shortcut CTRL+V to paste the arrow as the new marker. And just like that, we have replaced those boring column markers with our selected shape. It's that simple!

Using shapes as markers is a great way to add a unique touch to your charts and make them more visually appealing. So why settle for the same old column markers when you can easily switch them up with arrows, stars, or any other shape you desire?
