Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has launched five road projects under the Punjab Public Private Partnership Authority.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif digitally inaugurated the road projects being transferred to the Punjab Public Private Partnership model.

The management and operation of five roads in Punjab have been handed over to the private sector under the Punjab Public Private Partnership Authority.

The transfer of these projects under the Punjab Public Private Partnership Authority will generate Rs. 22 billion in revenue for the Government of Punjab.

The 80 km Muridke Narowal Road, 33 km Shakargarh Narowal Road, and 97 km Faisalabad Ring Road projects have been included under the Public Private Partnership model.

The 52 km Faisalabad Sahianwala Road and 56 km Faisalabad Samundri Rajana Road have also been included in the Public Private Partnership projects.

Modern electronic toll plazas will be established on roads transferred to the PPP model.

Private contractors will collect tolls on the roads, linked with the National Highway Authority, for a period of seven years.

The private company will also be responsible for the maintenance, construction, and repair of the respective roads.

Vice Chairperson of the Punjab Public Private Partnership Authority and Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb briefed the meeting about the projects.

Projects for hostels, hospitals, parks, sports grounds, and waste-to-energy facilities are also in the pipeline under the Public Private Partnership Authority.

Effluent Treatment Plants for treating toxic industrial wastewater have also been included under the Public Private Partnership model.

Parking plazas, tourism, water supply, and recycling projects are also being developed under the Public Private Partnership model.

Giraffe Café, tourism, and food street projects will be completed under the PPP model through the Punjab Public Private Partnership Authority.

The project processing time under the Punjab Public Private Partnership Authority has been reduced from less than two years to six months.

Four more roads in Punjab will be transferred to the PPP model under the Punjab Public Private Partnership Authority.

The 42 km Bahawalpur Yazman Road and 43 km Yazman Ahmedpur East Road will be transferred to the PPP model under the Punjab Public Private Partnership Authority.

The 28 km Raiwind Changa Manga Road and 26 km Gajjumata Kasur Road will also be transferred to the PPP model under the Punjab Public Private Partnership Authority.

Water and sanitation service projects will be completed in Chakwal and Kasur under the Punjab Public Private Partnership model.

In Lahore, the Tourism Department will develop Time Travel Park under the Public Private Partnership model.

For the first time, an FMD vaccine production plant will be established to protect livestock against Foot and Mouth Disease.

A parking plaza and multimodal commercial facility will be established at Badami Bagh Bus Terminal.

A bridge will be constructed over the River Sutlej at Sahuqa Pattan under the Public Private Partnership model.

Black Soldier Fly larvae facilities will be established for solid waste management in vegetable and fruit markets across Punjab.

Management of 100 sports grounds and other facilities will be carried out under the Public Private Partnership model.

A modern truck terminal will be established in Faisalabad under the Public Private Partnership model.

Girls’ and boys’ hostels will be constructed at the University of the Punjab and 28 other public sector universities.

Hostels will be constructed at three medical colleges under the Public Private Partnership model.

Fourteen hostels will be established across the province for working women under the Public Private Partnership model.

A nursing hostel will be constructed at Sahiwal Teaching Hospital.
